Flip Flops

on February 5, 2012

I love to wear these:

Well, not these exact flip flops, because I don’t actually own them and I think they’re actually jewelry, but they would be super cute, wouldn’t they?!  Rather, I love to wear flip flops in general.  I would wear them every day of the year if I could.  But I can’t, in Colorado, which is why I’m trying to convince my family to move to Hawaii – that’s sensible, right?!  Anyway, I get kind of bummed in the winter when I can’t wear flip flops, and I’ve been thinking about why lately.  For one, I just love flip flops.  We did live in Hawaii for three years and I’m guessing that’s where the love began.  Only there, we called them slippers.  But that’s not important, I think the heart of the matter is I love shoes that just slide on.  Apparently, I’m very lazy and don’t like to actually tie shoes.  I try to avoid tie shoes at all costs.  It’s winter now, and my sister was kind enough to give me some very cute and trendy snow boots, but you have to tie them, so I wear my ugly Wal-Mart snowboots instead.  It’s ridiculous, I know, especially since I’m a girl and I’m supposed to like all cute shoes.  But I think my favorites will always be easy to put on flip flops!  Sadly, though, I can’t wear them when the weather is like this:

Oh well, the sun is out and it’s 17 degrees, so it’ll start melting soon, and then I can break out the flip flops!
